Monrovia, Liberia- Retired Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia and Defense Minister Designate Major General Prince C. Johnson III, has vow to rally Senate support to Increase Military Personnel Salary although protest against him by Military Wives Association of Liberia.
He unveil that there are plan to lobby with the senate for the increment of salaries of personnel of the army as doing so will motivate the soldiers to properly serve the nation.
He made the remark at the climax of a one day Symposium held at the E.J.S Ministerial complex in Congo Town on February 6 2024.
The Retired General further asserted that the welfare of members of the Army as his major priorities when confirmed by the Liberian Senate.
However, following his appointment as Minister of National Defense, a group under the banner Military Wives Association of Liberia has been protesting at the grounds of the Capital Building, Calling on the Senate not to confirm him base on alleged Corruption, Constant Marginalization and Deprivation on Merit and Economic Benefits, His Lack of Interest in the Army Retirement Policy, Bogus Insurance Policy, Poor Housing Facility, His Constant Refusal to Obey Direct Order from President Weah amongst others.
