Grand Gedeh, – The Levy Garma Foundation has reinforced its commitment to education by donating US$5,000 to Grand Gedeh University during a vibrant fundraising rally held in Monrovia.
The event drew a wide range of participants, including supporters, local officials, and students, all united in efforts to promote and support educational development in Grand Gedeh County.
Presenting the donation on behalf of the foundation, Rodney Brown emphasized the organization’s dedication to expanding access to education in the region. He highlighted the transformative power of education, noting that investing in learning is key to shaping the future of young people and strengthening communities.
The rally featured speeches, cultural displays, and interactive activities aimed at mobilizing greater support for the university. Speakers, including local leaders and education advocates, underscored the ongoing challenges faced by institutions and students, while calling for increased backing from both national and international partners.
Grand Gedeh University, established to expand higher education opportunities in southeastern Liberia, continues to operate amid financial constraints. Authorities say the latest contribution will go toward improving academic programs and offering scholarships to deserving students.
University President Dr. Eric Z. M. Gbotoe welcomed the donation, describing it as a strong example of the impact of collective support. He noted that the funding will help the institution sustain its mission of delivering quality education and empowering students to reach their full potential.
