Monrovia, Liberia — A legal battle is unfolding at the Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Law Court in Montserrado County as Madam Ezatta Jones-Howe has filed a lawsuit seeking damages for alleged libel against Mr. Martin K. N. Kollie.
Court documents show that the action for damages for wrong, specifically libel, was filed during the March Term, A.D. 2026, before Resident Circuit Judge J. Kennedy Peabody. The complaint was officially recorded and stamped on February 25, 2026, at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
According to the Plaintiff’s Written Directions addressed to the Clerk of Court, the lawsuit is accompanied by a formal complaint, exhibits, and affidavits. The court has been requested to docket the case for hearing during the March Term of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court.
The plaintiff is also asking the court to issue a Writ of Summons compelling the defendant to appear and file his formal appearance or answer within the statutory timeframe. The document warns that failure by the defendant to respond could result in a default judgment being rendered against him.
Additionally, the court has been urged to instruct the Sheriff to properly serve the writ and make official returns on the manner of service within the specified period.
The legal action was submitted through Counsel Elisha T. Forkeyoh, Esq., who signed the filing on behalf of the plaintiff.
While details of the alleged defamatory statements were not outlined in the initial written directions, the filing signals what could become a closely watched case involving issues of reputation, public commentary, and accountability.
As of press time, Mr. Kollie had not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
The case is expected to draw public attention as proceedings commence during the March Term of the Civil Law Court in Montserrado County.
