As Liberia gears up for the President’s much-anticipated Annual Message, a meticulously planned protocol ensures a seamless event. Below is a detailed schedule of the ushering and arrival protocol for this significant occasion.

Guest Arrival and Ushering Process

• 2:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.
  Guests will be ushered into the Capitol Grounds through the House wing entrance. Members of the 55th Legislature, however, will access the venue via the Capitol’s front entrance.

Official Announcements by the Chief of Protocol

• 2:50 p.m.
  Arrival of Members of the Consular Corps.
• 2:55 p.m.
  Arrival of Heads of International Organizations.
• 3:00 p.m.
  Arrival of Their Excellencies, the Doyen, and Members of the Diplomatic Corps.
• 3:05 p.m.
  Arrival of the Dean and Members of the Cabinet.
• 3:10 p.m.
  Arrival of Former Heads of State, Vice Presidents, Speakers, Chief Justices, and Presidents Pro-Tempore: ALL PRESENT WILL RISE.
• 3:15 p.m.
  Arrival of Her Honor, the Chief Justice, and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia: ALL PRESENT WILL RISE.
• 3:20 p.m.
  Arrival of the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives: ALL PRESENT WILL RISE.

  Arrival of the Vice President of Liberia/President of the Senate and Members of the Senate: ALL PRESENT WILL RISE.
  The Vice President will take the chair to the Speaker’s left, and Members of the Senate will assume their reserved seats. Both Houses will then convene in Joint Session.

  The Sergeant-At-Arms of the House of Representatives will formally open the Second Joint Session of the 55th Legislature.
• 3:50 p.m.
  The Joint Executive Committee of both Houses will meet and escort the President of Liberia to the podium. The Sergeant-At-Arms will then announce the President’s arrival: ALL PRESENT WILL RISE.
• 4:00 p.m.
  His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of Liberia, will deliver his Annual Message to the Second Joint Session of the 55th Legislature.
