Senate Approves Augustine Ngafuan as Liberia’s New Finance Minister

Capitol Hill, Monrovia – The Liberian Senate has confirmed Hon. Augustine Ngafuan as the country’s latest Finance Minister in a unanimous vote.

Ngafuan, born April 7, 1970, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2015 under President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Ngafuan’s tenure includes a prior role as Minister of Finance during Johnson-Sirleaf’s first term.

He transitioned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 17, 2012, officially assuming the position on February 10, 2012, succeeding Toga McIntosh.
As it Stance, Mr. Ngafuan is expected to resume the role as minister proper.
