Rocky Road to Justice Minister Dean’s Confirmation as  Associate Justice; Legal Battle Unfolds

Monrovia, Liberia- In the heat of public reactions of president Weah’s late nominations and A complain filed By Unity Party, Jamesetta Wolokollie as Justice In Chambers has issued a stay order on the confirmation of Cllr. Musa Dean as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

A Complain against the Liberian Senate inclusive of its President Jewel Howard Taylor, Protemp Albert T. Chie, the Senate leadership, and Cllr. Frank Musa Dean, the nominee for Associate Justice, was filed by the Incoming Unity Party, through its Chairman, Luther Tarpeh, National Secretary-General Amos Tweh, and all other Unity Party officials in Monrovia. The action from the UP on Wednesday January 3, 2023 resulted to the halting of the Confirmation by the the Supreme Court.

Prior to the Court’s Order, There have been Controversy over Retired Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe’s age, as some legal luminaries claims the retirement letter from the Associate Justice and subsequently Justice Dean’s nomination by the President are calculated attempted to Have the outgoing government controlling the Judiciary.
