Police Spokesperson Cecelia Clarke Resigns Over “Unjustified” Transfer

By: Staff Writer

MONROVIA, — Cecelia Clarke has resigned as spokesperson of the Liberia National Police after what she described as an unjustified administrative transfer that removed her from the institution’s public communications post.

In a resignation letter dated February 18, Clarke said her decision followed a formal communication from the police hierarchy on February 17 informing her of her reassignment to the Protocol Department as its new head.

She noted that the Protocol Department was previously led by Sam Collins, adding that the move effectively stripped her of her duties as police spokesperson.

Clarke stated that under the circumstances she could no longer continue serving the institution, announcing her resignation from the Liberia National Police entirely.

The police administration has yet to issue an official response to her departure.
