The Moment Lawmakers of the Anti-Koffa Bloc protected themselves From the Effect of the Pepper Spray in the Joint Chamber
In the presence of ECOWAS mediation Team on Tuesday, the Capitol Building became a scene of drama as tension arose during the session where tear gas was deployed in the miss of the quote on quote majority Bloc.
The situation emerged when Members of the minority bloc, aligned with Speaker Koffa side, attempted to forcibly enter the chambers but were prevented by security personnel and staffers of these majority lawmakers.
A video recorded from the incident scene didn’t capture who fired the teargas however, Representative J. Melvin Cole, Rep. Eugene Kollie and others have been finger pointed firing teargas at the majority, an allegations that remains unvaried despite the accused were seen on camera displaying violence at the entrance of the joint chamber during their sitting.
The drama unfolded when some members of the executive, including Mo Ali from the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC), Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin, and Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler had gone to attend a written communication by the majority bloc in the name of doing business.
