Grand Gedeh – Human Trafficking
A major trafficking incident has sent 29-year-old Nigerian national Esther Asuquo to court. She reportedly trafficked six juveniles through Ivory Coast into Liberia and forced them into prostitution in Zwedru City. Victims told investigators they were required to generate LD 7,000 daily under threats of violence. Asuquo has been remanded at Zwedru Central Prison, while the victims have been placed in safe homes.

Margibi – Sexual Abuse

QNET Travel Scam Warning
The LNP has issued a strong warning about rising fraudulent schemes linked to QNET. These scams often appear as overseas travel or job opportunities, causing victims to pay large sums for nonexistent offers, sometimes resulting in abandonment or trafficking. The police urge citizens to verify all opportunities with the Ministry of Labor, Liberia Immigration Service, or the LNP.

Safety Tips
Traffic safety reminders included wearing seatbelts, observing speed limits, avoiding phone use while driving, using pedestrian crossings, and avoiding drunk driving.
Community safety tips highlighted reporting suspicious behavior, locking homes at night, walking in groups after dark, keeping emergency contacts on hand, and teaching children how to call for help.

Knife Violence Warning
The LNP also raised concern about rising stabbing incidents nationwide. Carrying or using a knife as a weapon is a crime, the police emphasized, urging citizens to resolve disputes peacefully to avoid the serious consequences associated with violence.

Deputy Commissioner Clarke closed the program by encouraging continued collaboration between the police and the public. The Police Report airs every Friday at 8:30 a.m. on ELBC Radio 99.9 FM.
