‎Liberia and Argentina Forge New Path as Honorary Consul Visits Monrovia

Monrovia — In a renewed diplomatic stride, Liberia and Argentina are exploring deeper ties in trade, investment, and development cooperation, following a high-profile visit by Argentina-based Liberian Honorary Consul, Dr. Gerardo Fabian Bernstein.

‎Dr. Bernstein, whose name has long resonated within the corridors of Liberia’s maritime sector, touched down in Monrovia for a four-day visit packed with strategic engagements aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations.

‎The highlight of his visit was a courtesy call to Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti. The closed-door meeting, according to insiders, centered on strengthening bilateral relations, unlocking new areas of cooperation, and expanding Argentina’s footprint in Liberia’s economic landscape.

‎From agriculture to energy, mining to sports, Dr. Bernstein met with top-tier institutions including the National Investment Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, Liberia Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Liberia Football Association. Each meeting, officials say, carried one central theme: attracting credible investment to jumpstart Liberia’s development agenda.

‎Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., Commissioner and CEO of the Liberia Maritime Authority, lauded Dr. Bernstein’s ongoing efforts and extended gratitude on behalf of the Maritime Board. He acknowledged the Honorary Consul’s critical role in strengthening Liberia’s position on the global shipping stage.

‎“Dr. Bernstein continues to be a pivotal force in our maritime diplomacy. His engagement is not only enhancing our international reputation but also catalyzing investor confidence in Liberia,” Cllr. Lighe said.

‎As Liberia intensifies its quest for foreign direct investment and sustainable economic partnerships, this visit is being hailed as a timely signal of growing global confidence in the West African nation.

‎Observers say the rekindled engagement between Monrovia and Buenos Aires may usher in a new era of mutual cooperation one anchored in shared economic interests, cultural exchange, and strategic development.
