Monrovia, Liberia — Conflicting statements from Anthony “Tony” Denuka and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung have emerged after FrontPage Africa Publisher Rodney Sieh accused the VP of linking with Denuka, who Sieh says has ties to the US$19.2 million RIA drug bust.

‎On Spoon Talk, Denuka described a political relationship with the Vice President. “I decided to support the Unity Party because I believe in Vice President Jeremiah Koung’s leadership… so I gave him my loyalty,” he said. He identified photos with Koung as taken at “his birthday celebration and another visit to his office,” and said he used one as his WhatsApp and Facebook profile picture “because I support his leadership.”

‎In contrast, Vice President Koung rejected any association in a Facebook post. “I reject Rodney Sieh’s allegation… that I have an association with one Anthony seen in a group photo with me,” he wrote. “As Vice President, I do take photos with many individuals… I do not know Anthony, and the photo taken does not suggest my knowledge of any personal dealings he may be involved with.”

‎Denuka also sought to clear himself of the drug case. “I have absolutely no knowledge of the 19 million-dollar drug case. I have no connection to it, no connection to Michael Brown regarding drugs,” he stated, adding that “no security agency has questioned me because I have absolutely nothing to do with this matter.”

‎Koung reaffirmed his stance on drugs, saying if “political associates, and employees, are connected to any drug related activities, they should face the full weight of the law.” The Joint Security Investigative Taskforce says its investigation into the June 8, 2026 RIA seizure remains ongoing, and the name “Tony or Anthony” has not been named as a person of interest or suspect despite five persons have been charged.
