The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Wenchi West District, Bono Region, celebrated 20 young girls aged 13 to 16 for preserving their virginity during a special Thanksgiving service last weekend.

The event, spearheaded by the Young Adventist Women Ministries, highlighted the importance of moral integrity rooted in Christian and cultural values. The honourees received undisclosed financial support as part of the ceremony, which aimed to inspire virtue among young women.

Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku, the coordinator of the Young Adventist Women Ministries, encouraged the girls to cherish their uniqueness and resist societal pressures, saying, “God created you uniquely beautiful, and you must not allow anyone to lure and break your virginity until you marry.” She also emphasized the importance of positive friendships and drew parallels to traditional rites like Bragoro and Dipo, which historically upheld values of purity and responsibility.

Associate Pastor Andrews Dua Bour Kyereh commended the young women for their discipline and urged them to prioritize education and faith. He also encouraged parents to actively instill strong moral values in their children, fostering virtuous living across the community.

This unique celebration serves as an inspiration for other young girls to embrace moral excellence and focus on personal growth.
