Monrovia, Liberia —The Liberian House of Representatives has announced that former President **Ellen Johnson Sirleaf** will deliver remarks during a special plenary session scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The engagement follows a formal invitation extended by House Speaker **Richard Nagbe Koon**, inviting the former Head of State to address members of the Legislature.
In a written response, Sirleaf conveyed her appreciation for what she described as a historic and unprecedented invitation, noting that the occasion would mark a significant moment in the country’s parliamentary record. She underscored the importance of the engagement as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between the current Legislature and former national leadership.
The former President also confirmed that her security detail had conducted a prior assessment of the venue and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, particularly the established access and entry protocols.
In her correspondence, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate thanked the Speaker and members of the House for the invitation and indicated her expectation of a constructive and substantive exchange during the session.
