Monrovia, Liberia – The People Newspaper wishes to issue a correction regarding our article published earlier today tagged “Bar Owner Busted in $317M Drug Case.”
In that report on the Liberian government’s announcement in the ongoing US$317 million cocaine investigation, we wrongfully used the photo of Mr. George Arnold Harris.
The individual charged and named by the Minister of Information is Mr. George “Leroy” Harris, owner of the Private Bar Entertainment Center.
An hour after publication, Mr. George Arnold Harris contacted this paper to raise the concern.
His statement:
_“I am George Arnold Harris. I am not George Leroy Harris, and I am not the owner of the Private Bar Club.”_
We regret the error. The mistake was not intentional. We sincerely apologize to Mr. George Arnold Harris, his family, and our readers for any embarrassment, confusion, or inconvenience this may have caused.
The photo has been removed and the online article updated to reflect the correct information. We remain committed to accurate and responsible reporting.
