Nairobi – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai held a closed-door meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, using the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit to explore ways to expand ties between Liberia and France.

The May 12 discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and identifying areas where the two countries can deepen collaboration. Both leaders signaled interest in advancing shared development goals and increasing cooperation on issues of mutual concern.

The meeting also served as a forum to exchange perspectives on regional and global challenges affecting Africa and the wider international community.

Boakai was joined by Foreign Affairs Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti and Liberia’s ambassador to France.

The talks come as Liberia seeks to broaden its diplomatic and economic partnerships beyond traditional allies.
