Monrovia – The Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex is set to come alive this Friday, November 14, as President Joseph Nyuma Boakai officially commissions the newly installed digital HD LED floodlights, signaling the long-awaited return of night sports in Liberia.
The historic ceremony will be marked by a series of exhibition matches featuring top county teams. In the opening kickball game, Grand Cape Mount County will face Maryland County at 4:00 PM. Football action will follow with Grand Bassa County battling Montserrado County at 5:00 PM.
The day’s excitement will climax with a nighttime clash between defending champions Lofa County and powerhouse Nimba County — a thrilling encounter that promises to light up the SKD both on and off the field.
Friday’s event marks a new chapter in Liberia’s sports development, offering fans who are busy during the day the chance to experience high-energy games under modern floodlights for the first time in many years.
