PPCC Slams Media Report in Yellow Machines Deal, Reaffirms Commitment to Transparent Procurement

Monrovia, Liberia – The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) has strongly denounced a recent front-page article by The Liberian Investigator, labeling it as “false and misleading.”

The article, titled “PPCC Disowns Yellow Machine Deal: Boakai Govt Faces ETON & EBOMAF-style Transparency Scandal”, reportedly misquoted PPCC Executive Director Bodger Scott Johnson and suggested that the Commission disavowed the Yellow Machine procurement deal—a claim PPCC calls “categorically false.”

In a firm rebuttal, the Commission clarified that it was neither consulted for verification nor given a chance to respond before publication. “The insinuation that the Commission would obstruct Liberia’s development agenda is baseless and irresponsible,” the statement read.

PPCC in a Press release also confirmed its collaboration with the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs on the Yellow Machine project, fully endorsing its alignment with the government’s ARREST Agenda.

The Commission urged the media to prioritize factual accuracy and ethical journalism, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, legal compliance, and the integrity of Liberia’s procurement systems.
