Monrovia, Liberia _ Former Montserrado County District Eight Representative Acarous Gray has accused President Boakai’s administration of transacting business with individuals he termed as terrorist financiers and money launderers
The allegation from the former CDC Montserrado District eight legislator comes in the wake of a debate surrounding government’s acquisition of two hundred and eighty-five (285) earth moving-equipment for the country which many consider as controversial and lacks accountability.
Mr. Gray speaking on a local radio claimed that the medium through which the equipment was acquired and transported to Liberia were criminals, stressing that individuals collaborating with the government of Liberia are money launderers who are engaged into terroristic financing.
Despite a written communication from the office of the minister of State to the 55th Legislature, giving clarity on the process through which the yellow machines were brought to the country, The former Coalition for Democratic Change Chairman on Executive perceive the Pre. Boakai’s decision has different motive.
Meanwhile Reacting to the assertion from the ex-lawmaker, the government of Liberia through its deputy Information minister Daniel Sando labelled Gray’s statement against the government as a “loose talk” and that the entire CDC was in disorder over the arrival of the machineries.
It can be recall that since the pronouncement of 285 pieces of earthmoving equipment by the government of Liberia through its Minister of State without Portfolio Mamaka Bility during a three-day cabinet retreat in May of this year, there has been doubt in the minds of many citizens including some legislators, raising concerns on how the Liberian government could reach such deal without the House of Representative and the Senate’s approval.
