President Boakai Abandons Petroleum Pricing Structure Surcharge

Executive Mansion, Monrovia–H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., the President of the Republic, has issued an Executive Order suspending the $0.20 premium on the petroleum pricing system effective immediately.

The government is working to lower the cost of life for its residents, and on March 21, 2024, it issued Order No. 128.

According to the president, reducing the price of petroleum will improve people’s lives in Liberia by bringing down the cost of products and services, boosting corporate profitability and productivity, and bringing in more money for the government.

According to the Liberian Constitution, the President may issue Executive Orders to address pressing matters that are essential to the nation’s progress.
