Tragic Negligence: Mother Dies Outside Redemption Hospital Amidst Pleas for Care

Monrovia, Liberia – In a heart-wrenching incident, a two-week-old baby is left motherless as a government-run hospital, Redemption Hospital, allegedly refused to admit the mother. The tragedy unfolded when Beauty Dolo, the young mother, passed away on the evening of October 22, 2023, due to the hospital’s alleged failure to provide timely care. Beauty had been receiving treatment at the hospital throughout her pregnancy until her delivery, which required a C-section.

Lovetee Dolo, the deceased’s sister, expressed profound sorrow over the incident, revealing that her sister had been in the hospital’s care for her entire pregnancy and even during her C-section. The situation took a devastating turn when Beauty was rushed to the hospital one Sunday evening but reportedly received no medical attention for nearly an hour. The hospital’s inaction ultimately led to her tragic demise. Eyewitnesses from the family of the deceased have condemned Redemption Hospital as a place of patient abandonment, citing past cases.

When Redemption Hospital’s management was questioned about these allegations, they redirected inquiries to the Ministry of Health. However, at the time of reporting, attempts to reach the Ministry of Health had yielded no response, leaving unanswered questions about the devastating incident and the hospital’s alleged negligence.
