Temple of Justice – Change Agent Network (CAN) Founder Eric Willise Wowoh was arrested Tuesday right inside the Monrovia City Court — not for the land case he had come to answer to, but for a fresh criminal complaint involving property valued at US$10,500.
Court records show the new writ was issued Monday, October 19, on charges of misapplication of entrusted property and theft of property.
According to the complaint filed by Colinco Zune, Wowoh allegedly obtained building materials worth US$4,000 and a commercial bus — locally known as a “Killer Bean” — valued at US$6,500 under false pretenses in 2020, and has since failed to pay for them.
The arrest unfolded in a dramatic twist. Wowoh had appeared before the Monrovia City Court for a separate, ongoing criminal case involving land — where he is accused alongside the Acquahs of criminal conveyance of land and theft of property — when police served him the new writ.
The two cases are separate, the court clarified, involving different complainants and different properties.
The latest arrest adds to the mounting legal troubles for the head of the prominent education nonprofit, which runs several schools across Liberia.
The court is yet to announce the next hearing date for the new case.
Wowoh remains presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
