MONROVIA — The Liberia Maritime Authority has drawn the line on its 2026 scholarship aptitude test, announcing that only candidates who scored 30 points or higher will move to the next recruitment phase.
LiMA, in a notice released this week, confirmed results are out for all applicants who sat the May 2, 2026, exam. The cut-off applies across both academic categories.
“Candidates who obtained a score of 30 and above in the Master’s category are eligible to proceed to the next phase of the recruitment process,” the Authority stated.
Bachelor’s degree applicants face the same benchmark. “Additionally, candidates in the Bachelor’s category who obtained a score of 30 and above have also qualified for the next phase of the recruitment exercise,” LiMA noted.
That sets the bar: Who passed? Anyone with 30 or above in either the Master’s or Bachelor’s track. Who failed? Applicants who scored below 30 will not advance.
LiMA said successful candidates will be contacted directly with details on the next stage of the process. No timeline was given for notifications.
The annual scholarship program targets Liberians seeking careers in the maritime sector, a key revenue driver tied to Liberia’s international ship registry. Competition is typically high due to limited slots and strong career prospects in shipping, logistics, and maritime administration.
“LiMA extends appreciation to all applicants for their participation and interest in the scholarship program,” the Authority added.
Candidates are advised to monitor the phone numbers and emails used during registration for official updates. LiMA has not announced whether unsuccessful applicants can reapply or retake the test this year.
