ANC Dismisses Claims of Yeakula’s Dismissal, Says Departure Was Voluntary

MONROVIA – The Alternative National Congress has pushed back against media reports suggesting that Cllr. Moriah Yeakula was dismissed from the office of political leader Alexander B. Cummings, saying her departure was voluntary and publicly announced months ago.

In a press statement issued May 13, 2026, the party said Yeakula stepped down as Chief of Staff “several months after the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections.” The ANC noted that it had communicated her exit at the time, contradicting recent reports that framed it as a dismissal.

The party affirmed that Yeakula maintains a “cordial and intact working relationship” with Cummings.

Yeakula currently serves as National Vice Chair for Legal Affairs, a position she was elected to by party delegates at the ANC National Convention in October 2025.

The ANC said any future appointments to Cummings’ office staff will be announced through his verified Facebook page and other official channels, consistent with past practice.

The statement was signed by Secretary General Desmond Ujay Nimely.
