Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has dismissed two of its officers for alleged involvement in criminal misconduct and abuse of authority.
Patrolmen Edwin T. Ceasar and Stephen B. Wanawon, both assigned to the Police Support Unit, were officially removed from active duty following an internal administrative investigation conducted by the Professional Standards Department.
The investigation established that the two officers violated the LNP Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards and the Discipline Regulations of 2016, engaging in acts of misconduct that brought the force into disrepute.
According to the police, the officers have been turned over to the Criminal Service Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“The Liberia National Police remains committed to integrity, accountability, and respect for human rights,” said DCP Cecelia G. Clarke, LNP Spokesperson. “Disciplinary actions such as these are necessary to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and to restore public trust in law enforcement.”
The LNP has meanwhile assured the public of its neutrality and professionalism in maintaining peace and order across the country, urging continued public cooperation and support.
