The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has summoned Margibi County Senator Nathaniel McGill to shed light on ongoing investigations into allegations of payroll padding from his tenure as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs.

The LACC’s invitation reveals an inquiry into claims that a Supplementary Payroll, including 728 names, was improperly managed and created outside the Civil Service Agency’s (CSA) framework during McGill’s term. The commission alleges that this payroll was established under McGill’s direction and is marked by significant irregularities and administrative misconduct.

The LACC has requested that Senator McGill attend the session with his legal team and relevant documentation to support his defense. McGill has confirmed his participation and expressed a commitment to transparency and democratic values despite the accusations against him.

He has criticized attempts by the government to suppress his voice and reaffirmed his dedication to advocating for good governance. The Senator is scheduled to appear before the LACC tomorrow at 11 AM and will subsequently address the media.
