Representative Anthony Williams Reports on Nine Months of Legislative Progress

Pleebo, Maryland County – A large crowd of citizens gathered in the streets of Pleebo on Saturday, February 8, 2025, to welcome District #2 Representative Anthony F. Williams as he returned to present his nine-month legislative progress report since taking office in March 2024.

The event drew strong support from various groups, including Muslim and Christian communities, women’s organizations, the Nigerian community, the Liberia Marketing Association, youth groups, and local government officials. Their presence demonstrated overwhelming confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership.

As a member of the 55th Legislature and Chairman of the House’s Banking and Currency Committee, Representative Williams has played a key role in shaping economic policies and promoting financial stability. He also serves on several legislative committees, contributing to national development and governance initiatives.

During his report to constituents, Representative Williams outlined his accomplishments, ongoing projects, and future plans for the district. His priorities include infrastructure development, education and healthcare improvements, and youth empowerment. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and community engagement, which has earned him strong support from his constituents.

As part of his nine-month report, Representative Williams donated two brand-new buses to ease transportation costs for residents. The buses, valued at one million United States dollars, will be allocated between the religious community and students commuting from Pleebo to William V. S. Tubman University in Harper.

He described the donation as part of his broader initiative to support the people who elected him in the 2023 general elections. He assured his constituents that more donations and development projects are on the way to improve their livelihoods.

Receiving the buses, beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Representative Williams, emphasizing that the donation would be used for its intended purpose. They also pledged to collaborate with the lawmaker to promote further development in Pleebo-Sodoken District.
