Khartoum, Port Sudan — The Nasser International Forum – Sudan Chapter has issued a scathing condemnation of what it describes as “grave atrocities” and “deliberate war crimes” committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians in El Fasher, North Darfur.
In a strong statement released Wednesday, the Forum expressed deep outrage over what it called “indiscriminate attacks” on residential areas, hospitals, and humanitarian facilities, labeling the assaults as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law.
“The deliberate targeting of civilians and relief centers amounts to war crimes that must not go unpunished,” the statement read, urging the global community to end its silence over the escalating bloodshed in Darfur.
The Forum called on the United Nations, African Union, and the League of Arab States to act swiftly to protect civilians, facilitate humanitarian access, and ensure accountability for the perpetrators of the El Fasher atrocities.
Humanitarian reports emerging from the conflict-hit region have highlighted mass displacement, civilian casualties, and severe shortages of medical aid. The Nasser Forum emphasized that such conditions are intolerable and demand immediate international intervention.
It further called for the opening of safe humanitarian corridors and the protection of internally displaced persons, particularly women and children who remain most vulnerable amid the ongoing violence.
“The world cannot stand idle while innocent Sudanese continue to suffer under indiscriminate bombardments and targeted assaults,” the Forum stated. “Justice must prevail for the victims of El Fasher.”
The Nasser Forum urged all Sudanese factions to embrace dialogue over destruction, underscoring that a political solution is the only viable path toward restoring peace, unity, and dignity to Sudan.
It reaffirmed solidarity with the people of Sudan and emphasized that peace efforts must be inclusive, comprehensive, and nationally driven to prevent further fragmentation of the country.
“Sudan’s territorial integrity and social fabric are at stake,” the group warned, stressing that the international community bears a moral responsibility to prevent another humanitarian catastrophe in Darfur.
The statement concluded with a pledge that the Nasser International Forum – Sudan Chapter will continue to stand by all efforts aimed at ending the conflict, alleviating suffering, and safeguarding Sudan’s sovereignty and unity.
Observers say the Forum’s intervention reflects growing frustration among regional actors over the worsening crisis in Darfur, where humanitarian agencies have struggled to reach trapped civilians amid renewed RSF offensives.
As international appeals mount, analysts warn that without swift global coordination, the situation in El Fasher could deteriorate into one of the deadliest chapters of Sudan’s prolonged conflict.
