President Yoweri Museveni experienced difficulties while voting after the fingerprint biometric system failed to recognize him at his polling station, prompting concerns about possible electoral irregularities.
Witnesses said the president made several attempts to authenticate his identity using the fingerprint scanner, but each attempt was rejected. Election officials later resorted to facial recognition technology, which successfully verified his identity and allowed him to vote.
Following the incident, President Museveni raised concerns about the reliability of the biometric system and called for an investigation, warning that technical failures could undermine confidence in the electoral process.
