Monrovia – The Speaker of the Mano River union Parliament Liberia chapter, Daniel Nills is urging members of the opposition community to refrain from statements that have the propensity to undermine the legal process in the ongoing fight against corruption in the country.
Daniel Nills statement is in reaction to Former president George Weah recent statement that the CDC will use all legal and political means at its disposal to resist the move to weaponize the country’s judicial system to its selfish advantage.
Speaking at a major News conference in Monrovia on Thursday August, 1 2024, Speaker Nills urged the opposition to remain law-abiding thereby calling on all indicted past Government officials to cooperate with the legal system to prove their innocence terming indictments as allegations not guilty unlike proven by a court of competent jurisdiction under Liberian Laws.
Daniel Nills is at the same time cautioning judicial actors to remain unbiased, ethical, and professional in discharge of their duties.
The MRUYP Liberia chapter Speaker however welcomed the government’s decision to implement recommendations from the Audit conducted by the General Auditing Commission stating that the move will increase trust in the public sector.
