Paynesville – A mother and her one-year-old baby, who were reported missing for nearly 12 hours, have been found safe in Paynesville City, sparking relief among family members and the broader community. The mother, Etta Momo, claims she and her child were abducted by unidentified men but miraculously escaped.
The incident occurred in the Moses Blah Community, Soul Clinic, Paynesville, late Saturday evening. It triggered widespread alarm, with concerned residents mobilizing to search for the missing pair. Community members blocked roads and conducted thorough inspections of vehicles entering and leaving the area in a desperate bid to locate the duo.
Etta Momo, a resident of Morris’ Farm Community, recounted her harrowing ordeal. Speaking to reporters, she revealed that she had been returning from a visit to a friend when the alleged abduction took place near the Coca-Cola factory fence.
“While walking home, two men just rushed to me suddenly and forced their hand to my mouth and that that wasme to go with them. I was terrified and didn’t know what would happen to my baby and me,” Etta recalled.
The kidnappers reportedly took Etta and her baby to an unfinished building at an undisclosed location, where they were held for several hours.
“The place I found my son and me last night—I thought we were finished already,” Etta said with tears in her eyes.
However, in what she described as a miraculous escape, Etta and her baby were later found in a gutter along Pipeline Road in Paynesville. Although she cannot explain how they were transported from the unfinished building to their eventual location, she credits their survival to divine intervention.
“I don’t know how we got there, but I believe it was God who saved us. It’s a blessing to be alive and reunited with my family,” Etta added, her voice trembling with emotion.
On the other hand, some critical thinkers believe that Etta’s account of been kidnapped is a game to cover-up her secret affairs.
