Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in collaboration with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), has announced updated ceiling prices for gasoline and fuel oil. While the U.S. Dollar prices for both products remain unchanged, the Liberian Dollar (LD) equivalent has been adjusted to reflect the current exchange rate.
Effective January 8, 2025, the new prices are as follows:
Gasoline (PMS)
Wholesale Selling Price: US$3.63
Retail Pump Price: US$3.91 / LD 725.00
Fuel Oil (AGO)
Wholesale Selling Price: US$3.93
Retail Pump Price: US$4.21 / LD 780.00
The revised Liberian Dollar pricing is based on the Central Bank of Liberia’s exchange rate of LD 185.00 to US$1, as of December 27, 2024.
To ensure transparency and compliance, the Inspectorate Team from MoCI and LPRC will actively monitor the market to prevent unauthorized price increases and maintain a fair competitive environment for petroleum importers.
The LPRC emphasized its commitment to “keeping the wheels of industry turning” and ensuring stability in the petroleum market.
