Liberia: Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana Warns Against Interference of Senate Confirmation Hearing

Monrovia, Liberia- Presidential press secretary madam Kula Fofana has cautioned the supporters of presidential appointees to desist from interfering the confirmation hearing conducted by the Senate at the Ground of the Capitol Building.

Madam Kula Fofana said the president have explicit confidence in the nominees and as such he don’t have any intention to withdraw their appointment.

Her called is in reaction to Thursday February 2, 2024 incident that occurred in the chamber of the Liberian Senate which led to the postponement of the confirmation hearing of Foreign Affairs minister designate Madam Sara Beyslow Nyanti when supporters filled the chamber of the Senate.

prior to the exercise, the ground of the Capitol was flooded with people believe to be supporters of madam Nyanti and other appointees chanting battle cry before the Senate Chamber. moment after, Senate postponed the hearing, adding security reason.

During her press briefing Mrs. Fofana at the same time disclosed that President Boakai will officially commence work at the Executive Mansion when the ongoing renovation is complete anytime in February 2024.
