Christoph The Change Management Apologizes for Inappropriate School Performance

Monrovia — The management of Liberian artist Christoph The Change has issued a public apology following criticism over his performance at Convent Catholic School, an incident that recently drew condemnation from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

In a statement released in response to the Ministry’s concerns, Christoph’s management expressed regret over the inclusion of an inappropriate verse during the school event, describing the incident as an unintended lapse that should not have occurred.

According to the management, prior to the performance, an approved list of songs considered suitable for the student audience was submitted and agreed upon. However, the situation reportedly changed when students began chanting a viral verse from a song not intended for minors.

The management emphasized that the song in question was created strictly for adult audiences and that Christoph has consistently discouraged minors from engaging with such content.

“Christoph has, on several occasions, personally intervened when students attempted to recite the verse,” the statement noted.

Addressing the incident itself, the management explained that upon hearing the chants, the artist’s team immediately instructed the DJ to switch the track. However, the instruction was not followed, as the audience had already begun chanting along—an outcome the team described as beyond the artist’s direct control.

Despite this explanation, the management acknowledged responsibility for the occurrence.

“We recognize that this moment should not have happened, and we take full responsibility for the lapse in performance protocol,” the statement read.

The management offered sincere apologies to parents, the administration of Convent Catholic School, and fans who were disappointed by the incident, noting that the school is an institution Christoph deeply respects.

Looking ahead, the team disclosed plans to formally engage the school’s administration.

“In the coming days, we will reach out to the school leadership to extend an in-person apology,” the statement said.

The management reaffirmed Christoph’s commitment to responsible entertainment, particularly in environments involving children, and pledged to learn from the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The statement concluded by thanking the public for its understanding and continued support.
