By Capitol Building, Monrovia–House of Representatives is unable to persuade the Central Bank Authorities to reveal the amount in the consolidated account at CBL as the statistics for Weah and Boakai are inconsistent, raising more concerns.
The Central Bank of Liberia’s officials were not persuaded by the House of Representatives to explicitly mention the net reserve in the CBL’s consolidated account on Thursday.
During his departure speech, previous President Weah claimed that the consolidated account had a total balance of US$40 million. However, President Joseph Boakai disagreed, stating that the balance was only US$2.5 million.
Before that body, CBL Governor Aloysius Tarlue and his deputies had the opportunity to clarify which of the two statistics offered by the two is genuinely accurate, but they were unable to do so.
