Zwedru, Grand Gedeh — Relief swept through Grand Gedeh on Sunday after the newborn who mysteriously vanished from the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital was found and safely returned to his mother.
Emotional images from the scene capture the heartwarming moment the mother, Tracy Nuahn, embraced her baby after days of anxiety and uncertainty. Authorities say more information will be released as investigations continue.
The disappearance sparked public outrage and triggered a full-scale search across Zwedru.

Just days earlier, the six-day-old infant went missing under mysterious circumstances. Tracy, still recovering from childbirth, recounted how she last fed her baby around 2:40 a.m. before briefly leaving the ward. Minutes later, an unfamiliar woman was seen exiting the building — and the baby was gone.
Hospital Administrator Thomas Q. Neewray described the incident as unprecedented in his 27 years of service, confirming that all staff — including himself — would face police questioning.
Community activists and family members had gathered outside the hospital demanding answers, vowing not to leave until the child was found.
