MONROVIA — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has announced a fresh wave of appointments across government, naming new officials to head key positions in the Youth Ministry, Judiciary, Central Bank, Forestry, Mines and Energy, and the Office of the Ombudsman.
The appointments, released by the Executive Mansion on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, are part of what the administration called an ongoing effort to “strengthen public institutions, enhance service delivery, and ensure effective leadership.” Most of the nominees are subject to Senate confirmation.
Key Government Appointments
At the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. F. Alphonso Y. Belleh II was named Deputy Minister for Youth Development.
The Judiciary gets Cllr. T. Emmanuel Tomah as Relieving Judge for River Gee County.
At the Office of the Ombudsman, Atty. Etmonia Mueadeh Martin was promoted to Chairperson, while Cllr. Sagie F. Kamara, Sr. was named Commissioner.
The Forestry Development Authority named Mr. Sundeh A. Blanyon as Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services.
At the Central Bank of Liberia, Ms. Euphemia Sweh-Monmia was appointed Deputy Governor for Economic Policy.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy appointed Mr. Moses Y. Kollie as Industrial Relations Manager for China Union/Bangli and Mr. Fahnlon B. Gbakoyah for MNG Gold in Bong County.
73 Magistrates Named Nationwide
In the biggest single move, President Boakai appointed 73 Stipendiary and Associate Magistrates to courts across 15 counties. The list covers Montserrado, Nimba, Sinoe, Grand Bassa, Bong, Maryland, Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Grand Kru, Rivercess, and Gbarpolu.
Notable names include Cllr. Augustus Tarpeh for Bushrod Island, Cllr. Lawrence Jackson for Gardnersville, and Cllr. Wilson S. Garpeh for Sanniquellie. Atty. Joseph O. Brown was named Stipendiary Magistrate for Greenville City, and Atty. Julius D. Fannieh for Kimgbor in Gbarpolu.
The appointments come as the Boakai administration continues to fill vacancies and reposition institutions ahead of the 2027 budget cycle.
In a statement, the President congratulated all appointees and urged them to serve “with professionalism, integrity, diligence, and a firm commitment to the public interest.”
Signed by Presidential Press Secretary Atty. Kula B.N. Fofana, the release noted that the new officials are expected to assume duties immediately in acting capacities where applicable, pending legislative confirmation.
