Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Transport has announced that it will conduct a nationwide inspection of vehicles and transport businesses starting April 4 through April 25, 2025. The operation, which will be carried out in collaboration with the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), aims to enforce compliance with existing transport regulations.
According to the Ministry, the exercise will target all vehicle categories, including tricycles, commonly known as KehKeh, with a particular focus on Montserrado County and concession zones across the country.
Inspection teams from the Transport Ministry, LNP, and LRA will be deployed at strategic locations to verify vehicle registration status, driver’s licenses, and valid insurance certificates. Authorities warn that operators who fail to meet these legal requirements could face penalties or other enforcement actions.
Transport operators, vehicle owners, and businesses involved in the sector are being urged to update all necessary documents ahead of the inspection period to avoid disruptions.
The Ministry advises those seeking assistance or clarification to visit its headquarters on Warren & Carey Streets, the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, or any designated One-Stop-Shop Center in the counties. Further information is also available via the Ministry’s helplines: 0888394908 or 0775696652.
The move is part of the government’s efforts to improve road safety, enhance compliance, and strengthen revenue collection within the transport sector.
