Executive Mansion, Monrovia – On August 6, 2024, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., with immediate effect, dismissed Mr. James Armah Massaquoi from his post as Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Education stating administrative reasons. At the same time, the President has appointed Atty. Nyekeh Y. Forkpa to replace the dismissed minister.
However, it can be recalled that there has been a continuous dissatisfaction in Margibi chapter of the ruling Unity Party over the appointment of James Armah Massaquoi as deputy minister for administration at the Ministry of Education.
According to them, President Boakai appointed Massaquoi to a key government position, leaving party members without jobs due to resentment over the deputy education minister’s opposition and CDC controversies.
On account of multiple reports, James Arma Massaquoi was accused of corruptions by employees of the ministry of Education for which they protested calling on President Boakai not to retain him at the ministry but to shockingly president Boakai promoted him to Deputy minister post.
The protestors accused him of eating parents money for their school fees through the mobile money payment system without giving proper account.
Pundits believe that the Liberian Head of State latest action to relieve deputy minister Massaquoi influenced by members of the Ruling Unity Party, and other administrative misconduct shows government’s commitment to battle ineptitude.
