Unity Party Gains Momentum as ALCOP Endorses Joseph Boakai’s Presidential Bid

Monrovia, Liberia – In a significant turn of events, the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) has officially thrown its support behind the Unity Party, known as “The Rescue Team,” and its presidential candidate, Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai, ahead of the November 14 presidential runoff. The endorsement follows extensive discussions between the leadership of ALCOP and the Unity Party, and the occasion saw a gathering of thousands of enthusiastic supporters from both parties.

ALCOP leader, Mr. Kamara, highlighted that their decision to back the Unity Party stems from the national roadmap created by the party for Liberia’s future. Mr. Kamara expressed his belief that Ambassador Boakai possesses the qualities required to bring about positive change, development, and transformation in Liberia. Notably, he emphasized that the incumbent President, George Manneh Weah, has been unable to effectively oversee the nation’s affairs, stating that President Weah is unfit to lead for the next six years. This endorsement is seen as a boost to the Unity Party’s efforts to bring about much-needed change in the country.

In response to ALCOP’s endorsement, Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai expressed gratitude to Mr. Kamara and the entire ALCOP leadership. He stressed the importance of uniting energies to salvage and rebuild Liberia after what he referred to as “disastrous last six years of misrule.” Ambassador Boakai also pledged to work towards an inclusive future where people from different backgrounds could coexist peacefully and contribute to their nation’s advancement. With this newfound support, the Unity Party is set to intensify its campaign efforts in the lead-up to the presidential runoff.
