Heartbreak for Maryland County. Former District #3 Rep. Isaac Roland Blalu survived a deadly hotel fire in New Delhi, but lost his wife during treatment abroad.
The couple checked into Flourish Stay B&B on June 3, 2026 for Mr. Blalu’s medical care. Fire tore through the building and killed 21 people — 18 of them foreigners. Mrs. Blalu was among the victims. Mr. Blalu is injured but alive and getting treatment now.
The Liberian government has confirmed the news and sent condolences to the family.
