By: Staff Writer

Peter Woyea, a resident of Konia Town and the newsmaker in this case, has sounded a serious warning after a gasoline tanker heading to Voinjama overturned near Konia Town, Zorzor District, Lofa County. According to Woyea’s Facebook post, youths, travelers, and nearby community members have begun dangerously scooping fuel from the fallen tanker, putting lives at extreme risk.

Woyea disclosed that despite strong warnings from the Liberia National Police (LNP) and community security, many people are refusing to leave the scene. He expressed fear that the situation could spiral out of control at any moment.

The situation signals back to the Totota, Bong County fuel tanker tragedy, where a similar incident led to a deadly explosion after crowds gathered to collect spilled gasoline—claiming dozens of lives and leaving many injured.
