Monrovia Liberia- The chief executive officer of Spoon Network was found guilty of criminal wire fraud and given a 41-month prison punishment, that will start afternoon on January 31, 2024. He has also been fined US$3.5 million and is forfeiting four properties.
Witherspoon, a resident of Burlington County, New Jersey, pleaded guilty on August 24, 2023, to intent to commit wire fraud (Case No. 23-60005-Cr-Smith), per the US Department of Justice.
Insiders claim that since Witherspoon has cooperated with investigators and is anticipated to reveal more information on the plot that could result in the arrest of additional participants, the Southern District Court in Florida messed with justice by showing compassion.
Witherspoon is expected to surrender four properties in New Jersey that the United States has previously recognized.But on Thursday, his attorneys showed up in court with a $3.5 million United States Dollars check, which they claimed was compensation for the earnings he had received from the illegal operation.Along with 20 other people, the CEO of Spoon Network and host of the well-known SPOON Talk in Liberia has entered a guilty plea or been found guilty for their roles inOperation Nightingale was a wire fraud enterprise that gave prospective nurses an unlawful job shortcut and means of licencing.
