MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has named Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah as the new Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, following the passing of the late Hon. Sylvester M. Grigsby.
The nomination, pending Senate confirmation, signals Boakai’s push for stability and strong leadership at the heart of the Presidency. Until lawmakers return from recess, Stevquoah will serve in an acting capacity to ensure seamless management of state business.
As Minister of State, Stevquoah will be the chief coordinator of the President’s agenda—bridging the Executive with other arms of government, overseeing daily operations of the Office of the President, and representing the nation in key engagements at home and abroad.
President Boakai, in his official communication, praised Stevquoah as a man of integrity and sound judgment: “It is my firm expectation that you will discharge the duties of this high office with dedication, professionalism, and loyalty to the Republic.”
A seasoned administrator with a track record in both public and private service, Stevquoah is no stranger to the President. He served as Chief of Office Staff throughout Boakai’s 12-year tenure as Vice President, earning a reputation for discipline, strategic thinking, and loyalty.
Stevquoah’s appointment is seen as a natural fit, given his long history of service alongside Boakai and his reputation for upholding good governance and inclusive leadership.
The President congratulated his nominee and expressed confidence that Stevquoah will “bring integrity, commitment, and efficiency” to the role, which is considered one of the most pivotal positions in the Executive branch.
