“No Compliance, No Salary!” – CSA Backs Pres. Boakai Against Asset Declaration Defaulters

Monrovia, Liberia – In a decisive move to enforce president Boakai’s Suspension pronouncement early this morning on asset declaration defaulters, the Civil Service Agency (CSA) has announced immediate additional action against officials who have failed to comply with the asset declaration.

The CSA, in a circular memorandum signed by Director General Josiah F. Joekai, made it clear: officials who remain non-compliant will be blocked from receiving their salaries for February 2025.

“This blockage will persist until the necessary compliance is achieved,” the memo states, signaling the administration’s firm stance on enforcing public sector integrity.

The crackdown follows mounting concerns about asset declaration among public officials, a key requirement aimed at preventing corruption and promoting transparency.

“This measure is intended to ensure that all officials of government adhere to the necessary regulations and maintain the trust placed in us by the public,” the CSA statement reads.

The memorandum was directed to all heads of Government of Liberia (GOL) spending entities, urging full collaboration in enforcing the presidential mandate. The agency emphasized that only officials who comply with the declaration process will regain access to their salaries.

As the Boakai administration pushes for greater accountability, many believe that the enforcement of asset declaration rules will serve as a major test of Liberia’s fight against corruption. With salaries now at stake, the message is loud and clear: comply or face financial consequences.
