Monrovia, Liberia – In an initiative to put smile on the faces of struggling underprivileged students, the Abandoned Child Foundation Liberia has kicked off a major distribution of school supplies to more than 30 underprivileged children in Montserrado County.

The giveaway, which began over the weekend, provided beneficiaries with book bags, dozens of notebooks, pens, pencils, and cash. The program is set to expand to Margibi and Bong counties in the coming weeks.

In an exclusive interview with The People’s Newspaper, CEO of the Abandoned Child Foundation Liberia, Mr. Darious Dolo, emphasized that the organization aims to support school children who cannot afford essential educational materials. “Since 2018, we have been dedicated to meeting the educational needs of struggling students, and this initiative is part of that ongoing commitment,” Dolo said.

Deputy CEO, Mr. Jeffrey Nyellekeh Sr., also spoke, highlighting the need for financial support to extend the program to all 15 counties in Liberia. “Some of these children lack parental support, and we are committed to helping them access quality education,” Nyellekeh noted.

11th-grade student God Gift Nyellekeh from McDaniel Faith Academy praised the foundation for its efforts and encouraged others to follow their example in supporting education for underprivileged children.
