THE MASK IS OFF: Koijee Alleges Secret Security Meeting, Demands Independent Probe

Congress for Democratic Change Secretary General Jefferson T. Koijee has issued what he calls “a grave alert” to the nation, warning of possible compromise within Liberia’s top security institutions. In a statement released Sunday titled “THE MASK IS OFF!”, Koijee linked his concerns to a recently circulated video allegedly exposing cartel-linked activities in Monrovia, saying the new development has deepened public alarm and uncertainty.

Koijee announced that he will soon release “sensitive video” showing a nighttime meeting involving three prominent security figures: former Defense Minister Brownie J. Samukai, Executive Protective Service Director Sam Gaye, and Patrick P. Doe, Deputy Director for Administration at the National Security Agency. He noted that Doe is “reportedly under surveillance in connection with ongoing security concerns.” The CDC Secretary General questioned the purpose and authority behind the gathering, asking why such influential officials would converge secretly “at such a sensitive moment.”

“This is not ordinary politics,” Koijee stated. “It is a grave alert about the integrity of the state, the safety of the Liberian people and the possible capture of national institutions by shadowy interests.” He argued that Liberia cannot afford “clandestine meetings, institutional confusion or suspected cartel influence within the highest structures of national security,” and called for an immediate, independent and transparent investigation into the matter.

Closing his statement, Koijee urged both Liberians and the international community to pay close attention. “The country is watching. The international community must pay close attention. — JTK.” As of press time, there has been no official response from the Ministry of National Defense, EPS, or the NSA regarding the allegations or the promised video release.
