17 Government Entities Salary in Limbo Due to Non-compliance–MFDP

MONROVIA — Due to allegations of non-compliance with the submission of annual financial statements for Fiscal Year 2023, the Comptroller and Accountant General, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Finance and Development-Planning, has withheld the salaries of seventeen comptrollers of government institutions. Elwood Netty, Liberia’s comptroller and accountant general, has ordered.

Therefore, until their corresponding reports are turned in to his office, the Comptroller and Accountant General has directed that the comptroller of each entity’s remuneration for March 2024 be put on hold.

The National Food Assistance Agency’s Fambah Crayton, Paynesville City Corporation’s Mallay Ndorbor, and the Independent Information Commission’s Nathaniel Vonhm are among the impacted comptrollers.

Among them are Benard Kekula of the National Aids Commission, Benchie Brown of the National Public Health Institute, and Winston Willie of the Liberia Board for Nurse and Midwifery.

In the meantime, Mr. Netty has reminded all heads of institutions and comptrollers/financial managers that they must submit their first quarter in accordance with Section 19 of the Public Financial Management Regulations by April 15, 2024, at the latest.
