Gbarnga, Bong Co. – The organization, DELTA-Human Rights Foundation, published a communication on their official Facebook page outlining her findings.
According to its research, JEAMCCO Construction Company was previously awarded a contract in 2020 worth US$26,000.
However, no work was completed at the superintendent’s Compound despite receiving the payment.
Furthermore, the company did not respond to requests for information through the Freedom of Information Act.
The audit report verifies these findings, raising questions about the decision to award a new contract worth US$149,000 for the same renovation project without any announced bidding process.
DELTA-HRF is calling on the County Council to halt the awarded contract until a thorough investigation is conducted to understand how JEAMCCO Construction Company utilized the previous funds.
DELTA-HRF has requested that the County Council and County Administration take appropriate action to avoid any further controversies.
They emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability in ensuring that such incidents do not become routine.
This situation has raised eyebrows among the local civil society, as it undermines public trust and raises concerns about the fairness and integrity of the administration to restore confidence, DELTA-HRF urges the County Council and County Administration to provide all relevant information regarding this issue to the public.
The citizens of Bong County deserve transparency and accountability in their government’s actions.
DELTA-HRF hopes for a swift resolution to this matter, ensuring that the best interests of the county and its people are upheld.
The ongoing renovation and fencing of the superintendent’s compound is a component of Bong County Superintendent Madam Loileyah Hawa Norris’ 100-day plans
