Monrovia – Liberia’s Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor has challenged members of the opposition community to ensure more women political participation in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Vice President Taylor said the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is concerned about women representation and believes the opposition should ensure women are given the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process of the country.
The first female Vice President of Liberia wants members of the Female Legislative Caucus to work collectively in speaking to issues of national concerns irrespective of their different political affiliations.
The Vice President was speaking Thursday when she served as keynote speaker at the Induction of new corps of officers of the Women Legislative Caucus.
The newly inducted Chairperson of the Women Legislative Caucus, Grand Bassa County Senator and the Political Leader of the Liberty Party Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence, for her part, thanked her colleagues for her preferment, and promised to work in the interest of all women of Liberia.
