Ebola Makes A Comeback In Liberia! -As Soul Clinic Community Likely To Be Declared No-Go Zone

The Government of Liberia through the ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) disclosed the reoccurrence of the deadly Ebola virus disease in the country less than week after another West African nation, Guinea, recorded its first cases and four deaths.

According to a short notice released by MICAT, the Country’s first suspected case of Ebola came from Guinea last evening and the patient is currently at the Redemption Hospital awaiting laboratory tests.

Liberia had her first index case of Ebola in 2014 that claimed the lives of thousands, stalled the educational activities and greatly affected the economy.

Dr. Mohammed Swaray who treated the female patient at his MEDICOVER Clinic, Soul Clinic Branch is currently in self isolation and the clinic is under surveillance while awaiting laboratory results from Redemption.

The relatives of the patient that escorted her to the clinic have been asked to keep in isolation until otherwise.

According to the information, the patient returned from Nzerkoure, one of the troubled spots in Guinea, few days ago with high fever and running stomach and was on medication at a local clinic around the FDA Community in Paynesville for about three days before going to MEDICOVER Clinic.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Jallah has been informed and the health authorities are making all efforts to bring the situation under control.
